Sharing is Caring

A few people offered to buy the recipe for my epic Oreo Cookies from me; but I'd feel a little guilty selling it since I didn't make it up. So, I've decided to post it here and if people try it and enjoy, they are welcome to make a donation as a thank you.

I even made a batch today and photographed the step -by-step process; for people that suck at baking. This specific batch was made as a thank you gift for someone who donated- if you'd like me to make you a batch too you can find out how here.

Hit the jump for the recipe; and a zillion cook-along photos- including a short guide on how to make your own strawberry cream double stuff oreos.

Ingredients

• 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter

• 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 2 large eggs

• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

• 3 1/2 cups flour

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

• 1 package Double Stuff Oreo cookies (About 18 cookies)*

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together with a mixer until well combined.  Beat in eggs and vanilla.
In medium bowl mix the flour, salt, and baking soda.  Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.

With a cookie scoop, form balls with the dough.
Place one ball on top of an Oreo cookie, and another ball on the bottom. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is fully enclosed with dough.

Place onto parchment or silpat lined baking sheets and bake cookies for approximately 13 minutes or until golden brown. Put them far apart because they will spread.

Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack

Now eat those delicious fuckers before someone else does. Yay!
...
*Double stuff cookies are difficult to find in New Zealand, so I make my own. Because I am an empowered women and no man will dictate how much cream should be in my oreos. And I make them half strawberry and half classic flavor, because I'm just crazy like that. Here's how:

Get yourself one packet of strawberry oreos, and one classic.

Twist the top off the cookie so this is what you're left with. Twisting oreos perfectly is an acquired skill, but at least you can eat your mistakes.

Stack those bitches up. You now have the most friggin awesome cookie; and the perfect centre for your Choc Chip Oreo Cookie.
